The time has come
To celebrate what the Lord has done
He sent His Son all the way down here
Born of a virgin back 2009 year
God hand selected a Jewish girl
To carry and deliver His Son to the world
A census was soon ordered
So a donkey Mary boarded
Off to Bethlehem they went
From inn to inn they were sent
Finally in a stable the pair rested
But soon Mary's physical strength was tested
For the event several assembled
Wise men followed a star, shepherds saw angels and trembled
As the angel had said
They named Him 'Jesus' as He lay in His straw bed
Such a significant night
He would grow up and deliver humanity from its plight
Not just as a whole
But He loves each individual sole
'I Am' is His name
Love is His game
All glory to you our King
To you our voices now shall sing
'O come let us adore Him'
To one chorus, trim

It's a New Week
Yesterday and today go hand in hand
But even then are as separate as sand
Sports camp training
Was successful at skills gaining
The family christmas party was fun
Greatest gang under the sun
This morning devo's up the hill
Sunburn but the view was brill
Was pleased with my time
At running, sweat and grime
The emotions over the two days
Have been crazy, a super odd faze
But even then are as separate as sand
Sports camp training
Was successful at skills gaining
The family christmas party was fun
Greatest gang under the sun
This morning devo's up the hill
Sunburn but the view was brill
Was pleased with my time
At running, sweat and grime
The emotions over the two days
Have been crazy, a super odd faze
Dear God
God, why does it have to be this way
Where are you on this day
What do I have to do to get you to notice
That I need you, without I can't focus
I know I've done wrong
I know of sin I pong
But I said I was sorry
And Your Word says repent then don't worry
Because you will forgive
And as a team we can live
But it doesn't feel like it's so
I feel alone with no hope
PLease Lord, have mercy on me
Help me to know and see
That you hold me life carefully in your hands
But as tightly as rubber bands
So here I am
Looking down over your land
I know you are there
But in relation to me, where?
I want to run
And hide from all I've done
I feel like a failure
Like I should be locked up by a jailer
Nothing I've done is good
If it had been with you it would
Where to now?
And how?
Read my bible every day
Try to listen, and not just say
Thank-you that even though I don't feel you
I know that you are completely faithful and true
Where are you on this day
What do I have to do to get you to notice
That I need you, without I can't focus
I know I've done wrong
I know of sin I pong
But I said I was sorry
And Your Word says repent then don't worry
Because you will forgive
And as a team we can live
But it doesn't feel like it's so
I feel alone with no hope
PLease Lord, have mercy on me
Help me to know and see
That you hold me life carefully in your hands

Catch Up
While I was away
At an internet free stay
I continued to write
With all my might
Here is what I came up with
All true, no myth
15th November (NZ time)
Last night we buried a bird
I prayed, God heard
The soccer was cool
Maybe in SA the All Whites will rule
Today is packing for the trip
At the Mt we'll take a refreshing dip
16th November
The trip down here was long
And filled with many iPod song
A walk into town
A walk up and down
The view from the top
The pick of the crop
A quick little swim
Rather just a dash in
The water was cold
A game of poker, don't fold!
17th November
My run round the base
Was filled with many friendly face
I sent a postcard all the way home
Therefore no need to phone
My shoulders are a bit burnt
Sunblock before playing touch I have learned
The hot pools
Were so salty my skin, for moisture, drools
18th November
Home time tomorrow
Some sorrow
The rain this morning was very wet
Poker filled the time with bet
Running up the Mt was hard!
The pain and effort uneasily parred
A quick dive in to cool off
It all led to a wheezy cough
Sitting on the beach to write is nice
Watching kayakers catch surf in water cold as ice
God, where are you?
Have you gone out to the loo?
I see your beauty around me
The mountain, beach, birds and tree
But do you listen when I pray
Feels like it makes no difference what I say
And to me will you speak?
I'm not tuned in, please tweak
19th November
I did something bad
It makes me mad
How could I be such a fool
No better than a lame mule
I wish a wash would make it go away
And free me from this feeling of dismay
I know only God can fix it
Though He might not want to one bit
20th November
We dressed up as Africans tonight
As requested on the invite
Amy and Dan's engagement party took place
The speeches were good, the catching up ace
To get best dressed lass was cool
But the bride to be looked like a jewel
At an internet free stay
I continued to write
With all my might

Countdown
I feel like I'm waiting for the starting gun
For the finish line I will run
A whole lot of nerves
My stomach serves
Like waiting to be executed
Or a groom to be suited
Tick tock
Goes the clock
The waiting game is don
I am a stone
For the finish line I will run
A whole lot of nerves
My stomach serves
Like waiting to be executed
Or a groom to be suited
Tick tock
Goes the clock
The waiting game is don
I am a stone
Bring It On
Tomorrow my life moves on
The academic year will be gone
One more exam
Then freedom BAM
Oh it will be great
Holidays finally, though late

One more exam
Then freedom BAM
Oh it will be great
Holidays finally, though late

More to Life
If life was a game
Cluedo would be its name
Choosing which cards of my life to show
And which to keep secret and not let them know
But one day it comes to an end
So one reflects on strategy and trends
When I come to the end of the game
I hope over my life God has reigned
But I'm in a tough place
I can't see your face
I think I know you hear
I think I know you care
I think I know you listen
When I talk to you I hope your eye glistens
But do my prayers have an effect
Sometimes I'm not sure I should dare expect

Overcast with Probable Rain
I didn't enjoy today
I just wanted to fly away
I'm tired of study
My brain's turning to putty
Lunch break was too long
Would have been long enough to write and record a song
Now I am on the bus
Very much over university fuss
Plugged into Family Force 5
Into holidays I am ready to dive
I feel so discouraged
Exams are lumpy like porridge
Everyone else is done
While I'm caged up like a Sound of Music nun
But I always feel I should include something happy
So I will reflect on the day and find something not too sappy
Galations this morning was good
Exactly what I needed, as good as pudd
I realise yesterday's post could use an edit
But is that cool? Na, edit = no credit

Four Sleeps Till Freedom
Today was a new day
This morning the clouds the sun did slay
I know that you are here
Down from Heaven you peer
Thank you for love
Its beauty like a dove
Last night we went to see the doco food
It caused a very somber mood
In my heart it caused fear
Of eating and feeding, even a pear
It seems that nothing is safe
All as super scary as a wraith
On a lighter note
But not as light as a poncho coat
Running each day is going well
Though sweat sure does smell
This morning the clouds the sun did slay
I know that you are here
Down from Heaven you peer
Thank you for love
Its beauty like a dove
Last night we went to see the doco food
It caused a very somber mood
In my heart it caused fear

That is the End, Pens Down
Today is my first exam
I hope my arduous study wasn't a sham
I'm quite looking forward to it
My enthusiasm candle has been lit
He's amazing and is bringing me lunch
Oh I do like him quite a bunch
The exam will be fun
After I will go for a run
I hope my arduous study wasn't a sham
I'm quite looking forward to it
My enthusiasm candle has been lit
He's amazing and is bringing me lunch
Oh I do like him quite a bunch
The exam will be fun
After I will go for a run

Dear Blogspot
I do not write
With words I fight
We often duel
I come out the fool
It makes me wonder
What if I blunder
Am I worthy of this honour
Or will it be a bomber
To post in world wide view
Literary spew
Maybe I shouldn't try
And just play hide-and-seek or I-spy
It could be a better use of my time
Rather than committing literary crime
With words I fight
We often duel
I come out the fool
It makes me wonder
What if I blunder
Am I worthy of this honour
Or will it be a bomber
To post in world wide view
Literary spew
Maybe I shouldn't try
And just play hide-and-seek or I-spy
